Double Negative
My todays post is about the mistake which most of the general public is unaware of. People know that something is wrong with the sentence but they cant find out the error. So, here it is: its called double negative.Double negative occurs when two negations are used in the same clause.Double negative has been considered correct in archaic English and many poets have also used triple and fourfold negatives like in this sentence taken from wikipedia(i.e., "There was not no man nowhere so virtuous") In todays' formal English double negative is considered wrong but most people tend to use it in their everyday conversation or for show off purpose as it looks kind of cool according to the teenagers out there
Lets take an example of this sentence : " I did not do nothing", Although this sentence looks fine and delivers it meanings but its grammatically incorrect
